A micromort (from micro- and mortality) is a unit of risk defined as a one-in-a-million chance of death. Micromorts can be used to measure the riskiness of various day-to-day activities. A microprobability is a one-in-a million chance of some event; thus, a micromort is the microprobability of death.  -Wikipedia

Enter Micromort: A top-down puzzle game about influencing people to Make Terrible Life Decisions™.

You play as Mortimer (or Mort), a soul trapped in the Grim Reaper's right hand as punishment for a less-than-ideal life, destined to serve him until your debt is paid.

You will do the Reaper's dirty work: Sneaking into the lives of mortals to manipulate them into making poor life choices that will end up reducing their lifespan. Grim's job is much easier when people die at their appointed time. They should really learn to decease in a more orderly fashion...

Interact with objects in the environment to find clues and see how each character reacts to the changes around them.

Find the correct sequence of interactions to make the character interact with the object that will shorten their life. This is okay, right?

But beware! If a character notices direct supernatural activity, they will flee the level, resulting in defeat!

How will Mort take to his new job? Will he be okay with manipulating the lives of others... to redeem his? Or is he himself just being manipulated by the Reaper?

Mort's unlife is is your hands...
